Over a decade ago, the Judbury Progress Association launched the Judbury market
in Calvert Park with just a few stalls, creating a space for the community to gather and showcase local crafts and foods. In 2010, the market moved to the Community Centre, with the JCCMC taking over its management.
Since then, the market has expanded into a vibrant indoor/outdoor event, hosting 70-80 stalls. Despite its growth, it has retained its friendly atmosphere and remains a favourite among locals. The market is a hidden gem in the Huon Valley, offering a wide range of Tasmanian food, produce, plants, clothes, and artisan crafts, all set to live music.
Friendly dogs on leads are welcome, though only assistance dogs are allowed inside the Community Centre. The market is just a 15-minute drive from Huonville; follow Glen Huon Road, cross the Judbury Bridge, and you’ll find it on the left. Parking is available at the Judbury Recreation Oval.
More than just a market, it’s a destination. Visitors can enjoy morning tea or lunch with various seating options, including a deck overlooking the Huon River and beanbags in Calvert Park, home to giant treehouses. The Community Centre’s kitchen, run by the JCCMC, serves traditional fare, including a house-made Devonshire tea. The Judbury Progress Association offers a BBQ in the old fire shed, where the famous ‘Judbury Burger’ can be found, alongside various food vans offering treats like Bruny Island Oysters, Tempura Mushrooms, Asian street food, and sourdough doughnuts.
The JCCMC relies on volunteers to run the market and its kitchen. If you’re interested in volunteering, they would love to hear from you. See our volunteer page here for contact details.
